Beginnings

At www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2013/07/oxygen-were-the-building-blocks-of... ... we have a recognition there is a problem with the consensus model of a soup of noxious gases forming the atmosphere during the early stages of Earth's existence (the first half a billion years). Obviously, they have not been reading the Expanding Earth hypothesis and how oxygen has increased through outgassing events - see http://malagabay.wordpress.com (various posts).

What they have been looking at is the paper in 2011 where a group of scientists used minerals on Earth to reconstruct atmospheric conditions in the early atmosphere and found it was not very different to what it is now. Oxygen rich compounds existed on Earth four billion years ago - so what does this mean for the origin of life?

At http://phys.org/print294024550.html ... the Planck spacecraft generated map of the early universe is causing something of a stir - a rethink in regard relic radiation left over from the Big Bang. Certain features cannot be explained by the Cosmic Microwave Background hypothesis. One of them is a large cold spot which corresponds to an anomously large area of high density. From the discussion engendered we learn the theory of the Inflating Universe predicts it shoud appear uniform at largest scale in all directions. The cold spot contradicts this.
