Swiss archaeologist that has been working in and around ancient Kerma for years is responsible for unearthing 3 temples in Sudan. The area of research s between 2500 and 1500BC, the late OK period, the MK period, and part of the NK period. The Kerma culture appears to have been aligned with the Darfur region in western Sudan (scene of distressing news stories over the last few years) as well as central Sudan. The search is on for the roots of the Kushite kingdom.
