Thutmose III

An amulet with the name of Thutmose III has been discovered in the spoil heap from the Temple Mount. A sifting project has been in progress for a number of years with members of the public taking part. A 12 year old girl spotted what looked like an unusual piece of pottery - and hey presto. See

New Chronology forum has an interesting bit about pumice from the Thera volcano which has been dated to the reign of Thutmose III (or shortly thereafter). Apparently, Manfred Bietak is now saying the pumice could come from any point in dynasty 18 prior to Thutmose III as the argument that pumice at Tell ed Daba (found in a workshop) in association with the cartouche of Thutmose III and his son, Amenophis II, can be countered by the argument 'it was old pumice brought to the workshop'.

At ... here we have the mother of Thutmose III, inscribed stone blocks containing information about Hatshepsut has been unearthed on Elephantine Island.
