Lightning creates anti-matter

This is an interesting story and can be found at various places on the Internet - for example, at https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/11/22/discovery-lightning-creates-anti-... .. lightning creates anti matter in our atmosphere. Back in 2009 Anthony Watts suggested a huge electric charge differential in Earth's atmosphere acted like a particle accelerator and now it seems scientists have verified the idea (or at least, a team from Kyoto University in Japan).

Quirky Comet

At https://phys.org/print430554336.html ... when a comet passed through the inner solar system at the beginning of 2017 it presented astronomers with the chance to turn their telescopes in its direction - and analysis is said to have filled in some crucial details what ices in Jupiter family comets do. Ices in this instance mean frozen gases. The comet it seems did not meet expectations as it is described as quirky - or different from other comets. The team measured 9 gases released from the nucleus into the coma.

Earth Breathes

At www.space.com/38844-nasa-satellites-track-breathing-earth.html ... we have a 5 minute NASA video plus a couple of pages of text - sent in by Robert. He pointed out how the snow/ice cover alternated between northern and southern hemispheres, a fact which has allowed CAGW people to dishonestly and constantly claim the ice caps are melting. In reality, in one of the hemispheres, the ice is melting - at the same time it is growing in the opposite hemisphere.

Sun Pulses X-rays

At https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/11/22/study-when-the-sun-pulses-x-rays-... ... Electric Universe has been something of a taboo for a number of years at WattsUpWithThat climate blog - but it seems even they cannot deny recent science findings, especially when it comes from a solar scientist (Laura Hayes). She has investigated a connection between solar flares and Eareth's atmosphere, a well trodden path in EU circles - but not accepted as a general fact of reality (by mainstream).

Migrations and Climate Change

Researchers are catching up it seems as migrations in the historical past are now being linked to switches in global climate (and tectonic activity) at different times in the Holocene. A paper in PNAS is briefly described at https://phys.org/print430472642.html ... but doesn't give much away (unfortunately). No doubt Popular Archaeology will give us a bit more info on the when and how later in the week. However, it is worth pointing out they are still ignoring the bigger factor - catastrophism.

Sand not water

At www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php ... and https://phys.org/print430401551.html ... Martian streaks, dark lines on Mars thought to be evidence of sub-surface flowing water are now thought to be where grains of sand and dust slip downhill to make streaks rather than seeping water. The Mars Renaissance Rover camera has been studying them and found they only occur on steep slopes ...

... they behave like sand grains tumbling on sand dunes on Earth.

Kaolin

Scientists claim to have created conditions similar to a so called subduction zone. The transport and release of water during subduction processes is thought to cause volcanic - see article in Nature Geoscience (November 2017) and go to https://phys.org/print430401008.html ... As a continental plate slides beneath oceanic crust (or vice versa) it moves into the Mantle - including various minerals and sediments from the ocean bottom. Over time these transform into different compounds but during the process sea water is released from the oceanic crust - inside the Mantle.

Oumuamua

At http://spaceweather.com (November 20th) we have news of another round of solar wind making a rendevous with the Earth in the next few days, coinciding with a mild November here in the UK. We also have an image of an 'interstellar asteroid' first seen by the Pan-STARRS telescope weeks ago when it was thought to be an interstellar comet. It is now classified as an asteroid as it has failed to bring on a cometary show as it approached the Sun. It is passing through the solar system ...

Bioluminescence

At www.geulogy.com ... some interesting points are made. It purports to be the study of geology in an electric universe. Mini craters found all over Malta for example, and strange looking geological formations in Britain. At www.everythingiselectric.com/biophotonics-humans-auras-acupuncture.html ... we have human auras and glowing people. Interesting story. The human body glimmers although the intensity of the light emitted is well below the sensitivity of the naked eye. Ultra weak photon emission is known as the energy released as light through the changes in energy metabolism.

Beach Flint

In Norfollk (England) there are beaches where the tide has washed away the chalk and left some extraordinary flint formations - see www.geulogy.com/norfolk/beestonbump/flintbackbones-beestonebump.html ...
