At ... a burial site of victims of the Black Death (14th century AD) has been uncovered at Thornton Abbey in Lincolnshire in what was once a monastic hospital cemetery. Some 48 bodies were found which included 27 children.


At ... Lachish was an important Canaanite town during the Middle and Late Bronze ages. It began life at around 1800BC and was destroyed and rebuilt on a number of occasions. The Iron Age town was contemporary the Biblical Monarchy period and was captured by the Assyrians. The highlights of the current excavation are finds within a temple.
