A specimen thought to be that link has now come under attack. It is no longer the missing stepping stone, a long dreamed of the missing piece of the puzzle. It seems the idea is an evolutionary assumption as it is thought snakes are a member of a lineage of 4 legged vertebrates that lost their limbs.
