A storm on Saturn, dark energy is real, and a fractal Sun

At www.physorg.com/news/2011-05-deep-huge-storm-saturn.html we learn that ESOs Very Large Telescope and NASAs Cassini spacecraft have been looking at a huge storm in the upper atmosphere of Saturn (see also NASA news release May 19th 'Cassini and Telescope see violent Saturn storm' and the full story at www.jpl.nasa.gov/news.cfm?release=2011-150&cid=release_2011-150 and www.nasa.gov/cassini ). It created a gigantic violent and complex eruption of bright cloud material which spread to encircle the entire planet. Energy was transported over great distances, it continues, creating encircling jet streams and forming giant vortices etc.

The second story is at www.physorg.com/print225002532.html 'Dark Energy is Real' and goes on to say Einstein was right – again. This is all about a study involving NASAs Galaxy Evolution Explorer and a telescope in Australia that mapped the distribution of galaxies over a large part of the universe – going back, it is claimed, billions of years in time.

At www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/05/070525092931.html 'Astrophysicists find fractal image of Sun's storm season imprinted in solar wind' … which says plasma astro-physicists at the University of Warwick have been looking at solar storms and the solar wind. They found the fractal pattern in the solar wind occurs when the Sun was at the peak of its 11 year cycle and when the solar corona was most active. Note … as the link is three years old the site comes out with search option – type in title of article and it will come up.
