Climate change

Greenpeace founder, or one of them, Patrick Moore, was interviewed by the Washington Times recently – see www.bishop-hill.net/blog/2012/8/11/moore-realist.html … and had some interesting things to say about climate change, as expected, and some even more interesting things to say about the people so keen to push it into the face of the general public in such an accusatory fashion (see also http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/conscience-realist/2…

Basically, he sees global warming hype as counter productive and politicised. He also makes the point environmentalism is an ism – like socialism and capitalism etc., a belief rather than a science. An environmentalist is therefore distinct from an ecologist as ecology is a science. His opinion is that such idealogies are negative as they divide people into opposing camps and make a lot of noise in the ensuing arguments.
