At www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2013/01/the-moon-was-once-powered-by-a-dyn… … it seems scientists have found evidence that rocks on the moon were magnetised millions of years ago. This discovery has led to the idea the moon formerly had a metallic core that produced the magnetic field – a lunar dynamo. It is thought a dynomo exists at the heart of the Earth.

At http://phys.org/print278579111.html … two years ago astronomers came across two giant lobes of gamma rays protruding above and below the plane of our galaxy – coming out of the hypothetical black hole lurking in the middle of the galaxy. An article in Nature by Gianni Bernardi and eight others decribe the discovery and what they think drives it, admitting that being polarised this is a general property of electro-magnetic radiation.
