The Cambrian Explosion

In neo-catastrophism the Cambrian Explosion of Life is not a problem as the rock record is perceived as primarily a record of disasters (catastrophes) and not a spread sheet of uniformitarian progress over time – a book that is opened page by page. At www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2013/09/darwins-dilemma-refers-to-charles-… …. the piece is presented as if Darwin considered the Cambrian Explosion contradictory to his Origin of Species but it is more than likely he expected geologists to find rocks with earlier forms of life leading up to the Cambrian. The fact there is a lack of fossils of life earlier than the Cambrian Explosion matters not a jot – if such rocks are merely records of catastrophic events. The theory of evolution stands.

In this piece a way round the problem for uniformitarianism is suggested. All the myriad life forms evident in Late Cambrian rocks evolved much quicker than life forms in later evolutionary time. I don't know if this will be taken seriously by others but it illustrates the problem uniformitarians have when it comes to the Late Cambrian rocks.
