At http://phys.org/print354260948.html … the magnetic complexity inside and outside the Earth has been modelled (see three images below) using data from the SWARM satellites. At the same time a special issue of Geophysical Research Letters has several papers on the subject. However, the results are preliminary. This is not an end product by no means as SWARM is still in the process of collecting data.
and note the intricate modelling to achieve a picture of the earth system that is gradually unravelling.
ESAs SWARM is designed to measure and untangle the different magnetic signals that stem from Earth's core, mantle, crust, oceans, ionosphere, and magnetosphere. The mission will provide information into the natural processes deep inside the Earth to space weather outside the Earth.
and this is perhaps the most informative image.
