However, they also found a small piece of finger bone that is estimated to be around 35,000 years ago (in a layer above the skull). The cave is 125km away from the more  famous Denisova cave and was occupied, it would seem, intermittently over a long period of time, from the Late Glacial Maximum right up to the medieval period a few hundred years ago.
