At http://notrickszone.com/2017/11/09/new-paper-most-modern-warming-includi… … a new paper claims that two thirds of climate warming since 1750 is due to solar causes – not what the doom mongers want to hear (or their paymasters in Renewables and the hedge fund managers invested in them). It seems the IPCC have shown a preference for modeled reconstructions of solar activity. This is rather strange but then this is climate science (mainly model generated). This is particularly relevant with the spike upwards towards the end of the 20th century. By using models of the Sun in combination with extrapolation of late 20th century warming climate scientists were able to bleat loudly and claim that post 1970 warming was due to human activity (such as burning fossil fuels). It has become something of an oft repeated drum beat by the CAGW crowd that solar activity has got nothing to do with recent warming. Therefore this paper is illuminating as it shows that even that fact is based on modeling – and not on real life activity on the Sun. It's amazing that they thought they could get away with it – and I suppose they could have gone on endlessly saying solar activity has nothing to do with current temperatures on Earth even though in the remoter past, when fossil fuels were not being used, there wee similar spikes in temperature. The elephant in the room is the satellit data – and the data is not in the hands of CAGW people. Scientists control the satellite data – atmospheric scientists. Satellite observations show that solar activity did not decline after the 1970s – but actually rose, substantially so. It was not until the 2000s that solar activity went into decline (as we entered the 30 year half of the solar cycle that has a preference for La Nina over El Nino. This is a fascinating insight into the murky world of climate science – driven by big bucks (as the US has always been the epicentre of CAGW).
