The claim is that scientists made a further step towards understanding dark energy – see https://phys.org/news/2021-04-scientists-dark-energy.html … via the 'Bryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey' – otherwise christened BOSS. It involves the Chinese Academy of Sciences who are said to have detected dark energy.

At https://phys.org/news/2021-04-qa-brink-age-scientific-discovery.html … which is purportedly the potential discovery of new physics, an idea provoked by the discovery of the muon, a subatomic particle. Muons are described as an unstable larger cousin of the electron. They contain a magentic anomaly. An experiment to challenge the Standard Model is in progress. Might be all hot air. What  seems to be involved is magnetism and how it interacts with particles. A learning curve for all concerned.
