La Nina weather patterns

Climate change

However, no prospect for an uptick in global temperatures in 2022 – unless some impressive computer wizardry is involved. It emerges this is not an entirely novel or unusual weather pattern as the puff piece admits a three year La Nina predominance has occurred twice before, since the 1950s. It seems as if it might be a purely normal weather pattern that recurs on a regular cycle. Later, we are told by a climatologist these are La Nina impacts – but they are exaggerated by climate change. If they only went back to the 1950s there might be value in what he said as we have some way to go, as far as the UK is concerned, to catch up with the colder winters of the 1950s and 1960s.  One has to wonder why only the last 70 years were used as a base line.
