At https://www.livescience.com/planet-earth/antarctica/zoom-through-a-spectacular-chain-of-ancient-underwater-volcanoes-on-antarctic-ocean-floor …  research in the Southern Ocean has mapped a string of sea mounts  that may have shaped the Antarctic Circumpolar Current – which flows clockwise around the icy continent. Halfway  between Tasmania and the Antarctic, a chain of underwater volcanoes has been discovered. Towering peaks under the surface MAY affect the current, it is hypothesized. They span 7700 square miles – west of Macquarie Island and the tectonically active Macquarie Ridge.

A chromium mine in Albania also hosts a huge hydrogen reservoir – and the same might be true of other mines where hydrogen is known to seep into the shafts and cause explosions. Why does clean energy come with unclean extraction – whether its cobalt in the Congo or palm oil in Borneo. I suppose it is a bit like westerners ignoring the sweat shops that produce their clothes.
