At https://phys.org/news/2025-05-lightning-gamma-ray-unleashed-collision.html … Japanese scientists at the university of Osaka investiagated a burst of radiation – a terrestrial gamma ray flash. It was synchronised with lightning. Two discharge paths were observed, one descending from the thunder cloud to the ground based transmission tower, and another ascending in the opposite direction. Just before their discharge paths met, a highly concentrated electric field was set in motion. This accelerated electrons in the air to near light speed. However, the gamma ray burst only lasted 20 microseconds [after the two discharge streams met].

Gama ray bursts are normally  associated with supernovae and black hole jets. Electricity in space it would seem.

It ended up there following a tsunami wave ripping up one of the cliffs on the coast of the island. The power of water is enormous. See
