One such group has been isolated who appear to have been hunter gatherers. They represent a previously unknown genetic marker that lived for a time on the high plains around Bogota. Currently, they have beern dated from 6000 years ago, migrating into the region from an unknown locality, before disappearing altogether 2000 years ago.They were replaced by an incoming new group of migrants.
