21 ancient craters

Catastrophism

William sent in another MSN video link – twenty one ancient craters found near the equator. Then scientists said the Earth may have had a rocky ring system millions of years ago in order to explain the 21 craters. See https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/21-ancient-craters-were-found-near-the-equator-then-scientists-warned-earth-has-a-deadly-ring/vi-AA24lad4 … They then suggest an asteroid may have been ripped apart by, wait for it, by Earth’s gravity. The debris may have rained down on Earth over 40 million years while the rings blocked sunlight and triggered a global cooling event. That cooling, they continue to speculate, is linked to the late Ordovician mass extinction event. Why not a simple asteroid strike, like the end of dinosaur one? It could have  split apart when it struck the atmosphere, hence the cluster of craters. Are they dated reliably?
