William sent in a link to a MSN video that claims Mars affects the weather on Earth. They arrived at this conclusion by analysing orbital patterns and sediment core records. Possibly not entirely so but as Milankovitch is mainstream consensus, we can expect a big input. One to chew on. Venus and Mars are the two planets, either side of the Earth, and it is perhaps reasonable to think they may exert a pull on the orbit of the Earth. Jupiter is much, very much, bigger – but further away.
