Expansion of the Universe

William sent in a link to another video – the universe may be expanding faster than our models predicted. See https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/astrophysicists-warn-the-universe-may-be-expanding-faster-than-models-predeicted/ss-AA287urJ … See also https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/04/260411022025.htm … for the same story. Astronomers have been researching the rate of expansion of the universe – confirming it is faster than predicted. It involved using a selection of overlapping methods to measure space distance. One of those methods is red shift. In other words, we have an average – a sort of Bayesian speed of the rate of expansion. No wonder other scientists are not convinced.

Over at https://phys.org/news/2026-07-dark-energy-foundations-today-cosmological.html … which also concerns expansion of the universe. We also learn the universe may be lopsided – the cosmic dipole anomaly, as it has been named. This means expansion of the universe is not the same in all directions. The research comes from the university of Mumbai.
