William sent in the link which includes a video of Comet 31/ATLAS as it moved through our solar system. As it came close to the Sun it brightness surged beyond expectations. As it reached the Sun telescopes and Mars orbiters revealed what looked like violent outgassing behaviour, unusual chemisty, and rapid mass loss. NASAs Parker Probe has captured the Sun’s hidden magnetic forces on video for the first time. It is a marvellous presentation of activity taking place on the face of the Sun. A swirling mass of spiralling plasma.
During the Parker Probe’s journeys around the Sun it encountered solar wind influenced by violent magnetic distortions known as switch backs. These magnetic spikes can clearly be seen on the face of the Sun. This seems to indicate energy is being released in bursts, reshaping the flow of particles outward into the solar system at large.
