The Peoples Daily in China (see http://english.peoplesdaily.com.cn/90001/90782/90873/7140112.html ) has a short story on a stone coffin from the Tang Dynasty (around AD800) which has a depiction of Greek like Europeans engraved on the outside – evidence of contact with Byzantium via the Silk Road.

At www.laht.com/article.asp?ArticleId=367031&CategoryId=14095 the Latin American Herald Tribune has a story on the discovery of two temples in the jungle of northern Peru going back as early as 2000BC, belonging to the Bracamoros Culture of Ecuador/ Peru. The excavators hope to reach earlier layers of occupation at the site.
