Temperature Modelling

Climate change

David Whitehouse has a pop at climate modelling at GWPF (where Benny Peiser and Nigel Lawson are the stars) – see http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/06/17/the-very-model-of-a-modern-major-p… but the really interesting re-modelling exercise went on in Australia – see http://joannenova.com.au/2012/06/threat-of-anao-audit-means-australias-b… … a team of authors, bloggers and scientists went through the BOM dataset and found significant errors, omissions, and inexplicable adjustments. The team, in league with a senator, demanded an independent audit, and rattled, BOM tossed out the old record and hurriedly concocted a new one. Unfortunately, as it was hastily scrambled together, it has, well, been unscrambled – by Ken Stewart and others. Stewart was responsible for a similar hatchet job in New Zealand, causing embarrassment of the political class as well as climate science departments. He has unpicked the new version of BOM, revealing some astonishing howlers. A warming trend, it seems, was created where no such trend existed.
