Pulsing stars

Another interesting forum going on atg Thunderbolts. Has plasma red shift been see in a laboratory? See what you think at www.thunderbolts.info/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6305

The argument is that red shift changes on stars such as Betelgeuse in the constellation of Orion is not due to expansion rate but in phases of brightness. Brighter does not mean bigger. This affects the whole idea of an expanding universe – based as it is on red shift. However, as the laboratory experiment was done as long ago as 2007 and nothing has been verified and all is mum and shut eye, is this all a bit of wishful thinking?
