Archaeology

I suppose I should comment on the Richard III DNA results that were hyped by press release and treated with emotive glee by the BBC, providing us with a programme that made you wonder what it was all about, a lady from the so called 'Richard III Society' reduced to fleeing to the powder room at the sight of the bones spread out on a table, and some guy with a nice mop of hair being decidedly off-hand in contrast, but most of the links were just too treacally for my liking. Hence, looking around for a life saver of sorts I reverted to archaeology at the nub – go to http://mikepitts.wordpress.com/2013/02/06/and-richard-it-was/ and Current Archaeology now have a post up at www.archaeology.co.uk/articles/news/face-to-face-with-richard-iii.htm and www.archaeology.co.uk/articles/news/reconstructing-richard-iiis-resting-…

Meanwhile, how to get your feet in a twist with trying to trace all things semi mythical back to a common origin – go to http://heritageofjapan.wordpress.com/2013/02/01/on-the-trail-of-the-tori…
