At http://wattsupwiththat.com/2015/08/06/pocket-calculator-climate-model-ou… … the four authors of a controversial study from January 2015 that was published in the Science Bulletin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences presented a simple climate model that anyone with a pocket calculator can use to make reliable estimates of future man made global warming. Why Joe Public might want to do that I don't know – but the pathway is there for those interested in playing around with numbers and things. This of course is in stark contrast with the computer models funded by governments from the taxes paid by the general public (or at least those in work) which, as far as the Met Office is concerned, costs millions of pounds (and that is not counting price of the super computer). In April, CAGW gang members, hunting in a pack, wrote a paper in order to refute the study as it claimed there would be less than one degree of man made warming by 2100AD. Obviously, not enough to scare people and keep the gravy train in motion. Now the four man team have hit back at the CAGW paper, as it had many errors of fact when reporting the contents of the original article in Science Bulletin. Simple sums is what it is all about.

It seems the Germans are becoming increasingly sceptical of the global warming money making exercise, and the question is being asked – why is Arctic sea ice greater in extent this July than in recent years. Another one bites the dust, you might say, but Arctic sea ice was supposed to have disappeared by 2013 (according to a British professor who claims to be a specialist, one of only a few, in sea ice thickness – whilst sitting in his academic cloisters and counting the greenbacks). The bigger question might be is why do the alarmists keep saying the ice at the poles is disappearing when exactly the opposite is occurring – it is growing at the South Pole and now it is growing at the North Pole.

They are now boldly manipulating the data in order to keep the ball rolling as we approach the Paris climate conference later this year. It seems they are not even trying to hide what they are doing anymore as they know not a lot of people actually look at the data – apart from a few old farts they deride as sceptics. Politicos are about to get their haircuts – rather, the taxpayers in the US, Antipodes, and Europe, are likely to get the contents of their wallets seriously reduced. When its over and the dust settles the politicos will have to make the excuses – not the alarmists. They will laugh all the way to their investments.
Meanwhile, at http://phys.org/print357743000.html … scientists are tracking the retreating Arctic ice at a fjord in Spitzbergen – off the coast of northern Norway. No mention of increasing ice volume – only the melting ice of a few years ago. The piece is also aimed at Paris. It says so in the last paragraph.
