At https://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2015/10/19/surprise-asteroid-to-give-ear… … an asteroid is due to pass close to the earth at some 1.3 lunar distances on October 31st (2015). It was discovered less than two weeks ago by the Pan-STARRS array in Hawaii. NASA says it does not present a threat and will fly past the Earth with no problems.

Commenter Scute chips in. He was involved in finding a link between the 2013 asteroid passing Earth and the meteor that was its companion that exploded over Chelyabinsk. NASA has never acknowledge the meteor was a rock orbiting in the wake of the asteroid. Now it seems history is about to repeat itself – or may be not. Scute and his friends have been doing some calculations and they claim there are lots of rocks running behind the upcoming asteroids and one of these could well impact with our atmosphere – which would mean somewhere in the  world would be in line for a repeat of the Chelyabinsk event.
