To begin with you need to go back to claims made a year or two ago that apparent motions of object beyon Neptune are being influenced by 'a very big something much further out', hidden from view save for its subtle gravitational tugs. So far, researchers, both amateur and professional, have come up with nothing to support the theory. Planet Nine remains invisible. Planet Nine theory also aligns with consensus theories on the early solar system – chaotic. The link then goes into the various attempts to divine its whereabouts – to no avail.

It got scientists very excited and some of them excited enough to come up with the idea of an intrusion by a red star (the Scholz star). This is additional to the post a couple of days ago. In the hypothesis the orbits of comets and asteroids were measured and the researchers say they spotted a pattern – some of them had been disturbed. The date of the anomaly was pinpointed at 70,000 years ago (seems to be a popular date at the moment).
So we have two objects – Planet 9 and the Scholtz star. Which one shall we opt for and support?
