At https://phys.org/news/2017-06-secret-square-beneath-world-famous-avebury… … back in the summer of 2017 we had a report on the discovery of a small square anomaly on geophys which was thought to be a megalithic construct with a tall standing stone within it – known for the last 80 years as the obelisk. The square feature was found within a stone circle at Avebury – but both square and stone circle were themselves within the bigger stone circle – and henge. Not a lot has been said about it of late, but no doubt some research is ongoing. The central feature, the obelisk, was originally discovered by Alexander Keiller in 1939. It has remained somewhat mysterious. It is now even more mysterious by reason it is surrounded by a square feature rather than a ring of stones.

However, at https://phys.org/news/2019-12-ancient-secret-stone-circles-revealed.html … within the complex at Callanish on the Isle of Lewis in the Hebrides there is a stone circle of sorts that appears to surround what was a massive lightning strike – or thunderbolt from heaven. Was the circle created around the site of a lightning strike or was the lightning strike later than the construct? Indeed, was it lightning or a fireball (meteor).
