Gary sent in a link to https://www.earth.com/news/dark-matter-does-not-exist-universe-27-billion-years-old-study … upsetting one  mainstream consensus view but then adding another one, the age of the universe, is stimulating, if anything else. See also https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/03/240315160911.htm … research suggests our universe contains no dark matter. It is entirely absent. The University of Ottawa is upsetting the mainstream apple cart. One Rajendra Gupta is the man in question, a physics professor at the university. It also seems the age of the universe is somewhat flexible. For more information see https://doi.org/10.3847/1538-4357/ad1bc6

At https://www.livescience.com/space/cosmology/this-is-a-journey-not-a-destination-stunning-map-of-the-milky-ways-center-exposes-new-mysteries-about-our-galaxy … a stunning new map of the magnetic fields at the heart of the Milky Way. It seems to raise questions bout how our galaxy’s central engine works. The researchers now have a clearer picture of dust and magnetic interactions.

At https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/03/240315160903.htm … plasma oscillations propel breakthrough in fusion energy. This is one that would have appealed to our former chariman, Tony Haynes. Plasma = ionised gas. It is the  most observable form of matter in the universe
