Robert sent in the link https://www.sciencealert.com/the-strange-science-behind-ghostly-lights-that-have-haunted-us-for-centuries …. ghostly lights dancing in mid air above swampy ground and between trees in damp woodland. Appartitions suspended above the ground. What are they? Scientists now think in terms of an electrical field as being responsible. Tiny bolts of lightning, or electric energy. These may form in electric fields where gases meet liquids. In this case – watery places. They jump between bubbles of different charges that ignite methane gas. For the full article see https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2521255122 … but Robert then brings in another link to a Creationist web site – see https://creation.com/beware-the-bubbles-burst … Robert mulls over the possibility the bubbles may actually be small clumps of plasma. The last link is an interesting read in spite of its focus on Noah’s Flood. It provides two nice stories. The first one is the Royal Navy in WWI and the second one is Glen Canyon Dam – in 1983. Fascinating stories. Cavitation is the new word. It was responsible for carving out the world’s canyons, ravines, and gorges. All part of Noah’s watery world. In other words it condenses a whole lot of landscape changes into a single event rather than multiple episodes of water erosion.
