Robert sent in the link https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/chandrayaan-3-finds-active-electrical-environment-near-moons-south-pole-9794072 … the Indian spacecraft, Chandrayaan 3, has found the Moon’s south pole region to be electrically active. Robert goes on to quote ‘ … when the Moon is facing the Sun [in lunar day time] and is outside the Earth’s magnetic field, changes in the near surface plasma are driven by particles from the solar wind interacting with the sparse neutral gas [exosphere] on the Moon. When the Moon passes through the geomagnetic tail, the plasma changes are caused by charged particles streaming from the tapered region of Earth’s long magnetic tail [towards the opposite side of the Sun], known as the geomagnetic tail ….’. Robert adds, it would seem that at all times the Moon is electrically active, whether it is inside or outside Earth’s magnetosphere.
The Langmuir probe, onboard the Vikrum lander, makes the first ever direct measurements of lunar plasma close to the south pole. This plasma environment, or its ionosphere, is kept on its toes by a continuous stream of charged particles in the solar wind. Lunar plasma is further influenced by charged particles originating from Earth’s magnetosphere, and in particular, its magnetic tail.
A bombshell dropping – see for example https://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2025/12/11/supermassive-black-hole-flare-launched-wind-and-debris-into-space-at-37000-miles-per-second/ … this seems to negate the idea of black holes. They are supposed to be so compact that its gravity prevents anything from escaping – even light. That is why it is black – as in invisible. It seems X-ray telescopes XMMNewton and XRISM have captured stunning observations of the universe including a never before seen blast erupting from a supermassive black hole. According to ESA, the European Space Agency, after the telescope captured images of the blast they also noted the rise of powerful winds. They were so powerful they flung debris out into the vastness of space at 37,000 miles per second. Or 60,000 km a second. The research team noted the massive flare was similar to a coronal mass ejection observed from our Sun. But much bigger.
Also, an article in Astronomy magazine on 12 December 2025, ‘ … if primordial magnetic fields are confirmed, rather than suspected, it will open an entirely new window into physics at enormous energies, possibly linked to phenomena such as the Hubble tension.
At https://dailygalaxy.com/2025/12/nasa-earth-has-2-million-kilometer-tail/ … which hoves into the first link. NASA has revealed that Earth has a 2 million km plasma tail. It is a magnetic tail, we are told, invisible to the naked eye. It is also an intriguing feature of Earth’s interaction with the cosmic environment. It is clearly tied to Earth’s magnetosphere – a shield that blocks cosmic rays and the solar wind. The magnetosphere limits the affects of electrically charged particles, or ions, in near space near Earth. It prevents the solar wind from bombarding Earth. A barrier – but one that is breached on occasion by big CMEs with an origin on the Sun. However, even in those circumstances, it generally is enough to shield Earth from deadly radiation.
In a way the Earth’s plasma tail resembles tails on comets – but it is not so obvious. Perhaps humans on the surface are at the wrong angle to appreciate the tail. What is clear is it is an extension of Earth’s magnetosphere – made up of charged particles captured after bombardment of the magnetosphere as the solar wind batters Earth’s magnetic field. Apparently, we are told, the magnetotail remains one of the most enigmatic aspects of our planet’s interaction with space.
