At https://dailygalaxy.com/2025/12/human-footprints-emerging-from-the-mud/ … ancient footprints discovered in White Sands, New Mexico. They are challenging ideas on how long humans have been living in the Americas. Footprints, preserved in mud that hardened, seem to date back to the Late Glacial Maximum. A date of 23,000 years ago has been proposed. They were discovered in the bed of a former lake  in New Mexico – or what was thought to be a lake. A watery location, we may assume. A wet environment. C14 dates have been collected from seeds, pollen, and the mud itself.
