This idea gets an airing at https://dailygalaxy.com/2026/03/scientists-found-a-second-sphinx-beneath-egypt-giza/ …. in a podcast on March 26th Filippo Biondi, described as a radar engineer at the University of Strathclyde, said a team had identified a buried form that appears to mirror the layout of known monuments at Giza. The new find is actually also at Giza. Although Biondi did not make a direct connection with the sphinx others have been quick to do that as there are apparently long running rumours of a second sphinx still buried in the sand. Biondi claims that by using satellite and radar there is a subsurface structure that is about 108 feet tall. He said that other features, such as vertical shafts and horizontal passage ways, may also be buried there.
In 2022 there was an article describing synthetic aperture radar tomography that was said to be able to reconstruct internal subsurface structures in the vicinity of the Great Pyramid. This appears to be the same methodology used by Biondi. We may note Zahi Hawass denied the idea of a second sphinx. He also of course has history as he is not a fan of modern technology – including the use of carbon dating. I should say he is suspicious rather than wholly against it. The rub is when C14 dates contradict those of the carefully pulled together Egyptian chronological model. In this instance, he actually says that Egyptologists have a more stable point of view. In fact, mainstream, including the media, are sceptical of a second sphinx monument.
At https://dailygalaxy.com/2026/03/underground-structure-detected-nile-delta/ … at this link we have another underground structure detected – but at Buto in the delta. It includes a 26th dynasty temple, it is thought.
