On a similar theme a post at Tall Bloke's Talkshop – go to http://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2012/10/08/some-volcanoes-are-triggered-b… … goes back to a 2011 paper at www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1342937X10001966 from the journal Gondwana Research – explores volcanic eruptions triggered by cosmic rays – sounds all a bit like Piers Corbyn. Basically, the Japanese authors examined eleven volcanic eruptions in Japan over 300 years and found nine of the eleven occurred during solar minimums. One commenter says the papermade him wonder what other links there are to the solar wind and cosmic rays, such as cloud formation, lightning strikes, volcanoes, earthquakes, ice sheet collapse, genetic mutations etc etc.
