Oh Dearie Me, the Climate is a Changing

16 May 2013
Climate change

The New York Times (the American version of the Guardian) has conceded that global warming is not happening yet assures its readers co2 levels are still a threat to the global well being – see http://notrickszone.com/2013/05/14/new-york-times-conceding-low-sensitiv…

Meanwhile, at http://nofrakkingconsensus.com/2009/08/21/how-much-is-a-birds-life-worth… … the ever diligent Canadian sceptic blogger, Donna Laframboise, wonders why the windmills kill raptors debate is covered up by environmentalists, bird conservationists, and politicos in general. Does the rubbing of hands with lots of dosh have something to do with it?

At http://phys.org/print287460981.html … the scary here is economic development in the Arctic. After all, it is rapidly warming. Meanwhile, a team of Russians has just walked over the ice from one side of the Arctic Ocean to the other, crossing the North Pole in the process and reaching Canadian landfall – not a bleep from the BBC and our intrepid newspaper fraternity. At http://phys.org/print287650749.html … the UN assures us all, or those that can be bothered to listen to the propaganda, we have created a new co2 changing zone with levels of Earth ruining carbon dioxide in the atmosphere never experienced by humans before – and they are so confident in what they say. This news blast came from the UN climate change executive secretary, one Christine Figueres. Is she getting worried about her non-job with a fat salary and a gold ingot pension?

At http://phys.org/print287575088.html … a new study in Nature Climate Change is trying, or so it would seem, to convince people that two thirds of common plants and a half of all the animals will see a dramatic decline in numbers this century due to climate change. The Church of Fear assures us we must take desperate measures – today. Source of this nonsense – troughers united. None other than the University of East Anglia, home of climate science in the UK and graveyard of HH Lamb. Not content with creating climate models and projections that are far fetched and quite apposite to real weather they now use the same sort of process to say that the fauna and flora is about to implode. Needless to say, weeds are thriving on my allotment and there are lots of birds nibbling at the bird feeder (and the odd crafty squirrel). What do they advise. Your first guess is correct – immediate measures to reduce our co2. If we do this quickly it will reduce the losses by 60 per cent. They are convinced by their number crunching exercise – but what methodology is used? Why is it 60 per cent and not 75 per cent? Such certainty reminds us of other things that proved a broken reed. Have they got shares in wind turbines – or are they being bunged by the renewable industry and the hedge fund King Kongs? Time will tell – just be patient and all will be revealed. Where money is the dirt will out.
