At http://phys.org/print301846082.html … see picture below. This was taken a few weeks ago and shows just what landscape features an earthquake can create – a huge crack in the ground and a wall of rock.

It resembles a ditch and bank system but this was not created by humans with reindeer shoulder blades as spades, mother nature has been at work. The wall of rock stretches over five km through farmland in the Philippines. It is said to have astounded geologists. Is this because such features are supposed to not happen quite in the way it did. Is it a surprising formation in the grand scheme of uniformitarian thinking?

Last year, an earthquake at just 6.7 magnitude, fished a coral reef out of the sea and left it stranded – also in the Philippines.
