    which might not be what you expected (looking more like a garden rockery feature). It goes back 3000 years – long after the pyramids were built in Egypt and the Sumerian ziggurats. It is roughly contemporary with the Mexican pyramids. Saryarka is in Karaganda, a province in northern Kazakhstan. The region is more famous for ornithologists as lots of birds migrate across the region, with its wetlands and lakes.
