We are told scientists are baffled as to where it all has gone. Did anyone know it was missing? It seems some astronomers think they have found some of the regular baryonic matter – in the  form of snow clouds [of hydrogen]. They found it in the Milky Way and the findings were published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. At www.sciencenews.org/article/universe-missing-matter-found-fast-radio-bursts …. scientists have long suspected the hidden matter is hiding between galaxies, along filaments of gas strung between galaxy clusters in a vast cosmic web. However, it has not been detected. Science relies on its inventory of baryons in intergalactic space as mysterious blasts of radio waves from other galaxies, possibly generated by energetic activity around neutron stars or black holes. Even though no one knows what causes these fast radio bursts they are useful as baryon detectors. What are baryons. They include neutrons and and protons.

Basically, they claim, there is still 85% of missing matter in the universe, and that is known as dark matter. This is the real cosmic mystery they assure us.
