At https://phys.org/news/2021-11-near-earth-asteroid-lost-fragment-moon.html … a Near Earth asteroid could be a fragment of our moon, according to a research paper in Nature Communications. It orbits the Sun but remains relatively close to the orbit of the Earth. However, it comes no closer than one million miles away.

Gary sent in the link https://news.curtin.edu.au/media-releases/new-curtin-study-pinpoints-lik… … a  new study for Curtin University in Australia claims to have pinpointed the like origin location of a group of meteorites that are thought to have been ejected from Mars. They used a machine learning algorithm in the process. It is said to analyse high resolution planetary images, namely, by mapping craters on Mars – as a first step. An interesting piece of research.

Meanwhile, Robert sent in a link to https://eos.org/articles/summer-could-be-earthquake-season-on-mars … summer on Mars seems to be earthquake season. Lots of Marsquakes occur at this time of the year. See also https://mars.nasa.gov/resources/7889/seasons-in-the-martian-year-as-the-… … Robert comments, as the mission goes on it will be interesting to see if there is any link between seismic activity on Mars, as the years progress over the 11 and 22 year solar cycle.
