Bird Tracks Again

Robert has sent in a couple of links to a Creationist web site – one of which concerns the bird tracks story that was posted on here a week or so ago. His link is https://crev.info/2023/12/bird-tracks-found-in-early-dinosaur-strata/ … However, one has to keep in mind they still hold that Noah’s Flood was responsible for the demise of the dinosaurs. Not only that, they also think dinosaurs lived alongside modern animals – until wiped out in the flood. They emphasize the similarity between the bird tracks unearthed and those of modern shore birds. The original story appeared in New Scientist of 29/11/2023, or the offending article used in the critique. They don’t seem to be able to visualise dinosaur age animals of some kind developing bird like feet. After catastrophic events some species are wiped out and very often a new kind of animal evolved to fill the same niche in the environment. This is why there were fish that behaved like dolphins in the modern world, but clearly did not look like them – apart from specific features. Bird like feet could well have evolved in the dinosaur era – and may have become extinct. That doesn’t stop Nature throwing up the  same feet structure in a later period. The nature of the bird like creature is unobtainable as we are confronted solely with its tracks. It also coincided with the Late Triassic boundary event – which was global and extensive. Birds are not in a position to be fossilised during catastrophic events – although bird nests and its contents have been found fossilised. They were primarily ground nesting species so they could easily be swept up in a general melee.

The other link sent in by Robert was a Creationist view of COP 28 – see https://crev.info/2023/12/cop28-vs-science/ … where it is clear they see  global warming/climate change as a hoax – perpetrated by Marxists. No doubt they may have eagerly jumped on the bandwagon but the heart of the hoax is more likely to revolve around Capitalist billionaires running hedge funds. They get to benefit the most by investing in solar and wind schemes – and raking in the fat subsidies. The link goes on to provide connections to a host of climate change stories, including references to alarmist rises in sea level. It is in fact, quite a cool sort of post. Worth browsing.

Remaining on the same theme, at https://wattsupwiththat.com/2023/12/11/lazards-lcoe/ … which takes apart Lazard’s ‘cost of energy’ report which is quoted on the internet as factual
