This link is interesting as it ties into the post a couple of days ago, 8 Year Span, which concerned Gothic alignments in Sweden. More precisely at Iron Age Old Uppsala, which is located north of Stockholm. The alignments were made to the moon and the rising Sun with the purpose of arriving at a date for the Great Winter Sacrifice, in effect a sophisticated calendar that was surprising for a date in early AD, and yet we now have a similar alignment purportedly dated somewhat earlier -see https://dailygalaxy.com/2026/09/monument-with-human-bones-found-czechia/ … In fact, quite a bit earlier, somewhere between 4500 and 4000BC. The general thrust of internet reports claims it was at least a 1000 years older than Stonehenge which also has similar alignments to the phases of the moon and the rising sun. It is believed.
However, there is a caveat as the article goes on to claim the Chleby enclosure had links with the Unetice culture which thrived during the Bronze Age – mainly the second millennium BC and therefore much later than 4000BC. Perhaps the enclosure remained in use over a couple of thousand years or so, as a contemporary of Stonehenge. It was perhaps just too good a click bait to emphasise the earlier than Stonehenge foundation of the enclosure. Part of the article claims a link with early farmers in Czechia and Slovakia, even in parts of Poland. That would place it at 4500 years ago – but were the same people living a couple of thousand years later during the Bronze Age. In effect, the Bronze Age bit is an even better parallel with Iron Age Old Uppsala, as it is separated by a much shorter period of time. This calendar, of sorts, as it is all a bit murky, would have been common right across central Europe over a long period of time. The same people are known to have migrated further, into Poland and Scandinavia, in one direction, and into Germany and France. Ultimately, across the sea into Britain – around 4000BC. Hence, establishing a precise date for the Chleby enclosure first construction phase is important. Was it before or after the excursion into Scandinavia and NW Europe?
