At https://dailygalaxy.com/2025/06/something-mysterious-is-hidden-deep-beneath-the-pacific-ocean-and-scientists-cant-explain-it/ … an headline that attracted my attention. At depths of between 900 to 1200 km beneath the surface of the Pacific is a seismic anomaly that defies current mainstream thinking. There are unexpected structures of some kind within the interior of the Earth – in it lower Mantle region. Seismic waves appear to slow down unexpectedly under the Pacific.
Once again it is Tectonic Plate theory that is creating the mystery as the Pacific is composed, we are told, of a single plate. It has no known subduction zones. This is the essence of the mystery as it is thought seismic waves generated by earthquakes can identify regions where cold subducted plates, known as slabs, have sunk into the Mantle. This is where one plate dives under another one, Hence, the seismic waves that detect these slabs in the Pacific basin seem to contradict mainstream thinking. There is no subduction going on in the middle of the Pacific plate, we are informed. Is this another nail in the coffin of Tectonic Plate theory?
At https://phys.org/news/2025-06-greenland-mega-tsunamis-shook-world.html … which refers to an event in September of 2023, a seismic signal that appeared every 90 seconds for 9 days, stopped, and then reappeared for a shorter period of time. It was proposed that two major landslides created two tsunami waves in a Greenland fjord, forming standing waves that reverberated around the enclosed flooded coastal valley formation. These are more commonly called seiches, and they can sally back and forth.
At https://dailygalaxy.com/2025/06/japans-10000-year-old-underwater-pyramid-worlds-biggest-unsolved-mysteries/ .. or do we? Off the coast of Yonaguni Island in Japan is a submerged structure discovered by divers which has puzzled archaeologists and commentators for the last 40 years. It is 150m in length and 40m wide, rising 27m from the sea floor. It has sharp angles, terraced levels, and geometric formations that have sparked controversy over the years. Could it possibly have been built by a lost civilisation. Mainstream, of course, do not like that idea. It would mean the pyramidal formation was built when sea levels were much lower. During the Late Glacial Maximum, for example. A Japanese marine geologist claims it could have been built during the last Ice Age, but your average mainstream geologist is convinced it was formed by geological processes. They compare it to the Bimini Road in the Bahamas, or the Giants Causeway in northern Ireland – created by tectonic processes.
